Dr Ian Williams

About

Dr Ian Williams is a postdoctoral research fellow within the Children and Young People’s Research Program at the University of Melbourne’s Department of General Practice, and Honorary Fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. He has a particular interest in social and emotional learning, psychosocial wellbeing, and prevention and early intervention among adolescents. 

As a qualified psychologist and educator, much of Ian’s work has focussed on the mental health and wellbeing of young people in school settings. He has published peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, industry reports and delivered professional development and training sessions, both for educators and researchers, on these topics.
