Rachel Baffsky

About

Rachel Baffsky is a PhD student and Research Assistant at the School of Population Health at the University of New South Wales.

Her work is focussed on improving the holistic long-term outcomes of young people. Integrating methods from social science and implementation science, she is working with key community partners to improve the quality and effectiveness of school-based wellbeing programs, including the Creating Chances program and PAX Good Behaviour Game program.

Rachel has a PhD scholarship to contribute to Policy and Practice by working with teachers and school staff to better understand how implementation science can be used to optimise the uptake of evidence-based mental health programs for children in schools.

She is also involved in a number of research projects on the topic of domestic and family violence (DFV). This involves working with practitioners to understand the impacts of COVID-19 on the DFV sector and to co-design a trauma-informed, long-term recovery service for women with lived experience of DFV.
